Magana Flowers Kenya Limited was involved in the University of Stellenbosch s, Africa Centre for Investment Analysis (ACIA) Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME) competition. These criteria for this competition were as follows:

6. Main achievements and impact on local economy

Social Commitment 30% of the total weight
1. Community involvement of company and staff
2. Encouragement of youth participation in the economy
3. Corporate Social Responsibility & Business Ethics
The SMME awards were presented to the best small medium and micro enterprises in Africa, based on the following structure:
1. One sector winner per the 10 different sectors of business. This award was for the best company in each sector for all of Africa. The sectors were as follows: Agricultural, Food and Beverage, Arts & Crafts, Banking and Finance, Construction, Education, Training and Consulting, Environmental/Renewable Energy, ICT, Manufacturing, Open Category and Tourism. A total of 10 winners were selected.
2. One Regional winner to be selected from the Sector Winners. This position goes beyond a specific sector.
3. One Africa SMME winner to be selected from the Regional Winners.
