Dr.
Magana Njoroge Mungai
acquired Magana
Farm in the late
sixties. He initially
began with diary
farming. In the
seventies he switched
his focus from dairy
farming to horticulture:
growing french beans,
avocados and later
on apples. In 1994,
he added floriculture
to his farming portfolio
and began to grow
roses.
This switch resulted
in the birth of
Magana Flowers Kenya
Limited. It is a
18 hectare, 550
employee flower
farm that grows
roses for export.
Dr. Magana Njoroge
Mungai its founder
is also its current
Chairman and CEO.
The flower farm
is located on Magana
Farm in Kikuyu,
Kenya which is approximately
18 km from the city
centre and west
on the Nairobi-
Nakuru dual-carriage
highway. It is located
30 km from the International
Airport. |
Its
location in Kikuyu
is approximately
2000m above sea
level thus providing
for good geographic
location, favorable
climatic conditions,
and mild to warm
temperatures required
for growing quality
roses. Fresh and
clean water is also
available in abundance.
There are 18 hectares
of planted roses
developed in 6 phases.

Limited is a fully
owned subsidiary
of Magana Holdings
Limited which is
a privately owned
company incorporated
in Kenya in 1973.
Magana Holdings
Limited also has
interests in real
estate, coffee farming,
information technology
and investments.
Magana Holdings
is owned by Dr.
Magana Njoroge Mungai
and his family.
