MFKL became Fairtrade certified in the year 2005 which led to the formation of Magana Flowers Maxhavelar welfare group which later transformed to Magana Flowers Fairtrade Welfare group.
All MFKL members of staff not in management positions (unionisable staff and supervisors) are members of the welfare group.
Magana Fairtrade welfare group committee members administers the use of Fairtrade premium funds through projects proposed by the members that improves the social economic status of the beneficiaries below.
All MFKL current and future employees, their dependants and the surrounding community comprising of sixteen villages are beneficiaries of the Fairtrade premium funds.
